Advanced Lab Container (ALC)
SA Geolab International is proud to announce the setting up our first advance 20-ft DNV lab container. This will be the first portable advance lab in the world. We are pioneering this approach and this portable advance lab can operate on a vessel or any onshore location in the world including remote outback areas.
The container is also equipped with an oven or any other add-on that is necessary for the lab testing including torvane, lab vane, fall cone etc. There are also 2 GDS triaxial testing systems that will be capable of doing CAU/CK0U compression/extension up to 40kN capacity with bender element.
We have only one container and of course it is subject to availability. However, we have room to set up another one if the need arises, but we will hold this to customise to our next client requirement and that can include a lab reefer container that can operate at 4deg. C.
The lab equipment shall include:
1 GDSSS - for simple shear tests at 5kN capacity
1 EMDCSS – for cyclic simple shear tests at 10kN, 2Hz capacity
2 Modified AOS - Continuous rate of loading consolidation to 5MPa loading pressure as well as triaxial tests at 10kN capacity for UU, CIU/CID or hydraulic conductivity (constant head triaxial permeability) tests.
2 GDS Triaxial Testing Systems – Up to 40kN capacity, with extended base to accommodate bender element if required.
1 Minidyn – for cyclic triaxial tests at 10kN, 2Hz capacity
GDS Static Simple Shear (Left) – Up to 5kN capacity.
GDS Cyclic Simple Shear (Right) – Up to 5kN, 0.01 – 2Hz capacity.
Samples for simple shear tests can be saturated prior to shearing.
GDS Triaxial Testing Systems – Up to 40kN capacity, with extended base to accommodate bender element if required.
Cyclic triaxial testing machine – 10kN, 0.01 – 2 Hz capacity.
Automated Oedometer Systems (AOS) – Capable of doing triaxial and oedometer step-loading or continuous rate of strain tests.
